On the 19th of May, we proudly hosted the first in-person networking event of the Workplace Wellbeing Association. The theme of the meet was “Wellbeing Apps in the Workplace”
The afternoon began with open networking. Then we moved into our schedule of events. The meeting began with founding trustee, Varsha Khatri, going through some seated stretches followed by founding trustee, Mark Heath took the attendees through a guided relaxation session.
Andrew Wilmot, founding chair of the Workplace Wellbeing Association then began the formal portion of the event. He went through and shared the current structure of the Workplace Wellbeing Association along with all the key trustees and board of advisors. He shared our mission of strategy, delivery, and measurement and how we are different than our competitors.

He introduced our keynote speaker – Janette Daubare, the CEO of Yours App. She spoke about the key features of her wonderful app and how it improves employee wellbeing and engagement. The app helps to rejuvenate your body, mind and soul with musical soundscapes, meditations, sleep stories plus advice from their team of expert psychologists. She even shared insight into some of the measurements and strategy that is currently in place for employers.

Next up we had speaker Richard Brash, Founder and CEO of Brash Solutions who presented to us a case study of how he built an app for Camille Leavold, MD of Abbots Care to promote staff wellbeing, especially amongst the carers. Together, they spoke about how the app had improved staff engagement and allowed the employer to better look after their employees.

After our short coffee and tea break, we continued the event with a panel discussion hosted by Andrew Wilmot about the role of workplace wellbeing in getting people back to work. On the panel was Vera Barovska – Ovation Incentives, Mizan Rahman – CTO of EMERGEiQ, Kathy Heath – Healthy Minds Club, and Varsha Khatri – Illuminated Health. The panel discussion was insightful as we were able to allow the other members present to engage in the important conversations.
From the event, it was apparent that there is a need for our association, especially as we are gearing towards strategy, delivery, and measurement. There is a need of greater transparency for providers to share statistics so that we can measure “Return on Investment” when presenting the case

We concluded the event with a cream tea in the gardens which allowed the conversations to continue.
A very special thank you to our event sponsors: Ovation Incentives, Yours App, SuperWellness, Transcendental Meditation.
